Adjunct Assistant/Associate/Professor (Open Rank): EdD – Educational Leadership – EDUC 726: Research Methods 1 – (Los Angeles, California, United States)

The mission of the USC Rossier School of Education is to prepare leaders to achieve educational equity through practice, research and policy. We work to improve learning opportunities and outcomes in urban settings and to address disparities that affect historically marginalized groups. We teach our students to value and respect the cultural context of the communities in which they work and to interrogate the systems of power that shape policies and practices. Through innovative thinking and research, we strive to solve the most intractable educational problems.

Seeking instructors to teach various doctoral-level courses centered on research methods and inquiry. Instructors will teach in the Educational Leadership Ed.D. (EDL) and/or the Organizational Change and Leadership Ed.D. (OCL) programs online and/or on-ground courses located on the USC main campus. Both local and remote applicants are encouraged to apply.

Research methods courses in our Ed.D. programs focus on equipping students with knowledge and skills regarding the nature of the inquiry process, research design, systematic data collection, and data analysis to answer research questions that will ultimately lead to actionable findings.

The candidate must have (a) an earned doctorate in education, social science, or related field, (b) demonstrated expertise in research methodology, both qualitative and quantitative, and (c) extensive applied research and/or evaluation experience beyond their doctoral dissertation, preferably in practitioner-focused contexts and workplaces. Prior postsecondary research methods teaching experience is preferred. The candidate must also be able to communicate alignment to the Rossier mission.

Adjunct Faculty: USC reserves the “Adjunct Faculty” appointment for faculty teaching less than full-time at USC, who are employed full-time in a primary profession or career elsewhere. Adjunct faculty may teach one class each semester (summer, fall and spring).

The base salary range for this position is $7,280- $9,360 per course.
