Clinical Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology (Part-Time) – (Los Angeles, California, United States)

The Department of Radiation Oncology Keck School of Medicine of University of Southern California consists of 17 physician faculty and 10 medical physicist faculty. We provide service at eight hospitals, including Keck Hospital of USC, Norris Cancer Center, Los Angeles General Medical Center (LAGMC) , Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles (CHLA), USC Arcadia Hospital, St Jude Medical Center, Adventist White Memorial Hospital, Henry Mayo Newall Hospital and five community-based clinics. The Department has ACR accreditation for Norris Cancer Hospital and its Keck regional radiation oncology clinics, APEX accreditation for its CHLA radiation unit and is part of the USC/Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. The program is a full member of the NRG, formerly Radiation Therapy Oncology Group, NSABP and GOG. It also participates in trials sponsored by the Southwest Oncology Group. Our medical physics faculty are directly involved in ensuring quality and safety for clinical operations, clinical research, and teaching.

The ACGME accredited residency training program is based at Los Angeles General Medical Center. The Department at the USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center is equipped with a state-of the art Varian Truebeam STX, a new Varian Truebeam, a Trilogy machine, and a Varisource HDR Brachytherapy unit. The Keck Hospital houses the Gamma knife Perfexion, as well as programs in episcleral plaque brachytherapy in ocular melanoma.

Position Summary

The Department of Radiation Oncology at the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California is recruiting a board-certified medical physicist at the Clinical Instructor level for a Part-Time non-exempt hourly role at an anticipated 40% FTE. The successful candidates will receive academic appointment at a level appropriate to training and experience from the Keck School of Medicine. This position will support clinical effort and cover clinical physics services in the Los Angeles and Orange County Areas as assigned by the Chief of Medical Physics.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Board Certification in Medical Physicist; A Degree of PhD or MSc; Active California TCP Status

Non-Exempt Position

The hourly rate for this role will be ranged from $100 to $150.
