Drs. Jessica DeCuir-Gunby and Yasemin Copur-Gencturk at the Rossier School of Education are hiring a full-time content creator to develop and edit material in various formats to enhance the accessibility and interpretability of research findings in the areas of racial equity and mathematics education for the general public. The ideal candidate is an individual with background knowledge and expertise in mathematics teaching as well as knowledge of culturally responsive approaches, who can translate research into information that laypersons can understand and access through social media and news outlets. Candidates should have experience in mathematics education and culturally responsive teaching or research methodologies, an exquisite command of the English language, and the ability to use technology effectively.
The position has a flexible start date and runs until July 31, 2027, with the potential for renewal.
The individual may work fully remotely from anywhere in the country as long as working hours significantly overlap with Pacific Standard Time.
Duties and Responsibilities

Create, maintain, and provide technical support for the websites and social media outlets of Drs. Copur-Gencturk and DeCuir-Gunby.

Translate research into materials that can be disseminated through news outlets, such as research briefs, and social media, such as tweets, animated videos, or other dissemination tools.

Coordinate work for Drs. DeCuir-Gunby and Copur-Gencturk and their research teams.

Copyedit documents for content, formatting, grammar, and style.

Provide technical support for presentations and webinars.
Qualifications
-
Has completed college-level courses in mathematics.

Has experience in teaching mathematics.

Has a demonstrated understanding of culturally responsive teaching approaches and/or research methodologies.

Has demonstrated experience as a content developer and strong skills in using various kinds of technologies to create content and maintain sites.

Has an expert command of the English language.

Pays meticulous attention to detail.

Has a demonstrated ability to work independently and meet deadlines with little guidance.

Possesses strong interpersonal abilities, especially with academics.
The hourly range for this position is $26.00-$30.77.
