Facilities Assistant – (Los Angeles, California, United States)

USC’s Gould School of Law is seeking an experienced and motivated professional to join our Facilities team.  The Facilities Assistant will play a multi-faceted role to support the day-to-day management of our building and offices.  The successful candidate will provide exceptional support to our faculty and staff and manage multiple projects in compliance with university safety regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preferred Education: Bachelor’s Degree and/or Specialized/Technical Training

  • Preferred Experience: 1 year

  • Preferred Field of Expertise: Prefer facilities management experience with knowledge of building and safety code requirements.

Job Accountabilities:

  • Oversees upkeep of Faculty Lounge and patio including ordering and stocking beverages, plant maintenance and furniture set-up

  • Prepares classrooms for approaching semesters

  • Processes data entry and oversees inventory for artwork

  • Stocks supplies and copy paper for staff and faculty

  • Distributes supplies upon delivery

  • Sorts/processes incoming and outgoing mail

  • Processes mail requisition forms

  • Assists with miscellaneous building duties, office moves, etc.

  • Liaises with FMS department for building repairs and other services needed

  • Participates as a member of the Emergency Preparedness Committee

  • Acts as 3rd floor marshal for emergency drills and real-life evacuation events

  • Depending on law school business needs, will assist minimally with exam administration and/or proctoring each semester, and commencement each year.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. The university reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.

The hourly rate range for this position is $23.14 – $26.67. Minimum Education: High school or equivalent, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education
Minimum Experience: 6 – 12 months
Minimum Field of Expertise: Knowledge of computer software for tracking and maintenance of facilities project data, e.g., status and cost estimates.
