Open Rank Faculty Position in Linguistics – (Los Angeles, California, United States)

The Department of Linguistics in the Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences at the University of Southern California (Los Angeles, CA) invites applications for an open-rank tenured or tenure-track faculty position in theoretical syntax with an anticipated start date of Fall 2024. All candidates at the level of Assistant, Associate or full Professor will be considered. The department welcomes applicants whose research integrates theoretical syntax with semantics, experimental linguistics, and/or computational linguistics.  We also encourage applicants whose core research may be syntax adjacent but who would be capable and eager to contribute to the undergraduate and graduate program in syntax.

Duties include maintaining an active program of research, strong commitment to teaching and supervision at the graduate and undergraduate level, and participating in the academic life of the department. A doctoral degree is required by the time of appointment.

The annual base salary range for this position is $104,500 – $196,500.
