The Environmental Studies Program in the Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences at the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles, California, seeks to hire outstanding faculty to fill part-time, teaching-track faculty positions—Instructor, Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Master Lecturer, Assistant Professor (Teaching), Associate Professor (Teaching), Professor (Teaching), Assistant Professor of the Practice, Associate Professor of the Practice, Professor of the Practice, Adjunct Lecturer, Adjunct Assistant Professor (Teaching), Adjunct Associate Professor (Teaching), Adjunct Professor (Teaching), Visiting Assistant Professor, Visiting Associate Professor, and Visiting Professor.
Our program offers academic courses at both the undergraduate (B.A./B.S.) and graduate (M.A.) levels. Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in Environmental Science, Environmental Policy, Chemistry, Biology, Earth Sciences, Political Science, Environmental Sustainability, or related field from an accredited institution. The desirable candidate will also have a well-documented academic or professional background in natural and/or social sciences with a record of excellence in undergraduate teaching. We particularly seek a candidate who has experience teaching courses in areas such as general environmental science, environmental economics, quantitative assessments of environmental issues/statistics, energy and climate change policy or environmental regulations.
Applicants should be able to work professionally and effectively with diverse individuals, possess effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and have the ability to contribute positively to the academic success of the students and the USC mission. Initial appointments are fixed-term, with the possibility of renewal contingent on need and performance and review by the program faculty, the Director and Dean. The per course rate for this position is $11,000.
