Academic Program Assistant – (Los Angeles, California, United States)

The Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism seeks an energetic, creative, and experienced part-time Academic Program Assistant to support the school’s investigative reporting program on a range of projects. She/he/they will be critical to the program’s success, engaging in project planning and execution, helping to apply for grants, and handling office administration. It’s a fun and dynamic job, with different and exciting projects constantly popping up.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate events such as conferences and trainings
  • Conduct research for grants, projects, events, and classes
  • Assist with grant requests and administration
  • Track budgets
  • Take on projects big and small
  • Manage websites
  • Interact with contractors, grantors, guests, students, and the public

Additional Information:

  • This is a part-time (50%), hourly staff position.

  • The hourly pay range for this position is $24.00-$26.00. Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree. Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education.
Minimum Experience: 0-6 months
Minimum Field of Expertise: Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills for interacting with both domestic and international stakeholders. Demonstrated attention to detail. Proven ability to plan, implement, and coordinate program logistics. Demonstrated database/data entry experience. Proven project management and problem solving skills, able to handle multiple timelines, changing priorities, and fluctuating workloads.
