The Department of Family Medicine of the Keck School of Medicine of USC provides care for every member of the family, across generations and over lifetimes. The Keck COVID Recovery Clinic is seeking an RN Coordinator to join our team. This Registered Nurse position will provide smooth outpatient flow resulting in optimum patient satisfaction and clinic operation. The RN would work in a multi-disciplinary team to provide care coordination to a diverse patient population with Post-Acute Sequelae of COVID-19 (PASC), also known as Long COVID. The RN performs initial telephone screening, with intake form completion, and schedules patients. Escorts patients to exam rooms, obtains and appropriately records patient vital signs/medication list, monitors patient flow, prepares patient chart with pertinent medical information, and prescription management as directed by physician. Schedules diagnostic tests and referrals as ordered by the physician as needed. Performs various administrative duties, including answering phone patient calls, returning phone calls, receiving and sorting in-coming faxes, obtaining prior authorizations, and assisting in preparation of forms for clinician. Ensures patient’s right to privacy, safety, and confidentiality is maintained. Maintains a safe environment in accordance with standards, policies, and safety regulations. Performs other duties as assigned.
Essential Duties include but are not limited to:
- Uses and practices basic assessment, participates in planning, executes interventions in accordance with the plan of care or treatment plan, and contributes to evaluation of individualized interventions related to the care plan or treatment plan.
- Provides direct patient care.
- Demonstrates professional communication skills for the purpose of patient care, education, and multidisciplinary team collaboration.
- Schedules and receives patients.
- Ensures patient charts are prepared prior to appointment including x-rays and pertinent lab work and consult notes. Sets up exam rooms, assists physician with exams as needed, monitors patient flow.
- Performs basic administrative duties.
- Handles telephone calls and writes correspondences.
- Serves as a liaison between physicians and other individuals.
- Takes patient histories and vital signs.
- Implements an effective and efficient patient flow.
- Performs first aid and CPR if needed.
- Assists physicians with exams and treatments as permitted by license.
- Organize pharmacy refill request for physician approval.
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting to accomplish duties in a timely manner.
- Triages patients in person and over the telephone.
- Records patient information in chart/EHR according to standards/policies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Preferred experience: Working at least (1) year with a chronic disease population
- Preferred Experience: at least (3) years as a Registered Nurse
- Preferred Field of Expertise: current BCLS and ACLS certification, and clinical experience in a directly related field.

The hourly rate range for this position is $45.23 – $49.00. Minimum Experience: 1 year
Preferred Education: Related undergraduate study
Preferred Experience: 2 years
Preferred Skills: Clinical experience in a hospital, college health center, or in ambulatory care.
